Last updated: 1 March 2025

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Connect ("the Platform"), operated by Ismail Hendricks ("we", "us", "our"). By registering or using Connect, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at privacy@connect-nikah.co.za if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or posted content that violates our community guidelines.

  • Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by South African consumer law.
  • We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days notice.
  • Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings.

5. Your content

You retain ownership of content you post on Connect (photos, bio, messages). By posting content, you grant Connect a limited, non-exclusive licence to display and store your content for the purpose of operating the platform.

You confirm that any content you post is your own, does not infringe anyone else's rights, and complies with our community guidelines. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms without notice.

6. Wali system

Connect provides a wali (guardian) feature to support Islamic marriage practices. By linking a wali to your account, you grant that person read-only access to your messages and contact requests as configured in your settings.

Connect does not verify the Islamic legitimacy of wali relationships. You are responsible for ensuring your wali arrangements comply with your own religious and family requirements.

7. Disclaimers

Connect is a platform for introductions only — we do not guarantee marriage, compatibility or successful relationships.
We do not conduct background checks on members beyond optional ID verification.
We are not responsible for the conduct of members on or off the platform.
Match scores and compatibility ratings are algorithmic estimates, not guarantees.
Connect is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, Connect and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or harm arising from interactions with other members.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts. These Terms are subject to the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) and the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA).

10. Changes to these terms
